0.1.0.0 Major Systems and Content Update



This update brings major system improvements and additional content to enhance your gaming experience. Let's dive into the details:

Additions:

  1. Vitals UI Redesign: The Vitals UI has been redesigned for a more simplified and elegant look. It is now located in the top right corner to help clear UI clutter.
  2. Enhanced Controller UX Support: Native controller support has been enhanced for a smoother experience.
  3. Input Prompts: Input prompts have been added to improve hint usage, aiding in better gameplay understanding.
  4. New Accessibility Options:
    • Colorblind Modes: Added support for deuteranopia, protanopia, and tritanopia.
    • Character Outline: New options for black and white outlines to assist with visual aid, using pixel-perfect outlining.
    • And more to come! We're always looking for feedback on improving accessibility.
  5. Shop and Leveling Mechanic: The shop is still in progress and requires further polishing. It will be updated in a future patch along with the leveling mechanic.
  6. New Attack Animation for Yui: Added a new attack animation for Yui, extending her ground combo to four hits. This is a temporary addition, intended to be a toggleable equip inspired by Kingdom Hearts.
  7. New Mutated Frog Enemy: Introduced a new frog enemy. It's a bit clunky and will need further polishing.
  8. GameInstance Implementation: Implemented GameInstance for better data tracking across levels.
  9. Player Animation Improvements: Added a new "battle" idle animation and a dash animation to improve player animation quality.
  10. New Crystal Caverns Map: Introduced a new default Crystal Caverns map along with its new background music composed by Joel Smith, the game director.

Minor Additions:

  • Various bug fixes and optimizations have been implemented to enhance the stability and performance of the game.
  • Additional Shaders to improve aesthetic and feel of assets.

Planned Features:

  • Fully Completed Crystal Caverns Level: The Crystal Caverns level will be fully completed, featuring intricate design and challenging gameplay elements.
  • Yui's New Form: During the Crystal Caverns mission, Yui will obtain the Talerune artifact, unlocking a powerful new combat form. This transformation will reveal new abilities and skills, setting the stage for further discoveries and challenges in her journey.
  • Working Levels: Leveling Yui will grant rewards such as increased stats and additional ability equips. These equips will change how Yui plays in terms of combat and movement, allowing for a more personalized gameplay experience.

Known Issues:

Our journey to perfection continues, and we appreciate your patience and support. Here are some known issues we're actively addressing:

  • While the base resolution has been increased, we are monitoring any unforeseen issues related to scaling.
  • Unexpected balances regarding the new additions of menus and other functions are considered and monitored closely.
  • When using an item within the inventory would soft lock the player.
  • Loading into a save creates a chance the load window is not removed from viewport.
